On the Day of Your Test

When you are ready to take the driving test, you can schedule your driver’s test at www.dmv.pa.gov. If you do not have access to the internet, you can schedule your driver’s test by calling 1-800-423-5542. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment and have the items listed below readily available to present to the examiner. Please be sure to bring original documents.

1. Your valid learner’s permit.
2. Valid registration card for the vehicle you plan to drive for the test.
3. Valid Inspection sticker(s) on the vehicle you plan to drive for the test.
4. Proof that the vehicle is insured: an insurance identification card, declaration page of an insurance policy, valid insurance binder, or policy of self-insurance issued by PENNDOT.
5. The valid driver’s license of the person accompanying you to the Driver’s License Center.

If under 18 years of age, you will need the completed Parent or Guardian Certification Form. If your parent or guardian is not accompanying you to the Driver’s License Center, he/she must sign the form in the presence of a notary.
